About the role

The Deputy Director of Clinical Services provides clinical leadership, clinical workforce management and operational leadership as part of the Hospital Management team to support the Director of Clinical Services and to assist the Hospital to meet its operational business and workforce objectives.

The Deputy Director of Clinical Services with responsibility for primarily for the Maternal Health/Neonatal/Paediatric/Surgical Services amongst other areas of responsibility.

The successful applicant will have extensive clinical and managerial experience in relevant specialties in the acute hospital setting with at least 5 years in senior nursing positions in the acute hospital setting. Please note, this role undertakes on call duties as required.

 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have the following Knowledge, Skills & Capabilities

 

Essential

  • Relevant registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Post graduate qualifications in management/leadership
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience working at a senior management level within the health care industry
  • Proven ability to successfully lead and motivate a clinical services team
  • Providing strong strategic direction and positive leadership
  • Proven strategic planning, workforce analysis and policy development skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead Accreditation and Continuous Improvement Processes in a Health Care facility and achieve sound outcomes
  • Knowledge and understanding of contemporary clinical risk management
  • Strategies that are effective in promoting and ensuring high quality patient care
  • Awareness of the relevant legislative requirements and governing body reporting responsibilities of hospital/ clinical services departments
  • Sound computer skills using the MS Office Suite and Web based Reporting system

 

Desirable

  • Post Graduate Qualifications (Business, Health, Nursing)
  • Demonstrated understanding of private health sector funding model
