The Opportunity to Join Our Team

Lake Macquarie Private Hospital is currently seeking motivated experienced Registered Nurses that will undertake a critical role in our Cardiac Cath Lab with an exciting and dynamic team who demonstrates commitment to Ramsay Health Care and its values. 

Lake Macquarie Private Hospital comprises of 2 Cardiac Labs, leading the way in a range of cardiac procedures. We are the ‘Heart’ of the hospital. We work with a professional group of highly skilled Cardiologists, nurses, cardiac technologists and radiographers who work harmoniously to deliver quality patient care.

As a Cath Lab Nurse your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate with the Cath Lab team in cardiac procedures in the perioperative environment (scrubbing, scouting, recovery roles).
  • Developed interpersonal skills, self-motivated and customer focused to work as part of a high functioning team
  • Enjoy continuous learning and education in caring for cardiac patients.
  • Time management and ability to prioritise effectively to manage competing workloads within a complex environment
  • Deliver safe, researched-based standards of nursing care
  • Actively contribute to a culture of continuous quality improvement and safe practice

 

This is a Monday to Friday service with an on-call team after hours and on weekends. You will be required to:

  • Work Monday-Friday, shift start times range from 0600 to 12 Midday.
  • Shifts may range from 8hr and 10hr to accommodate flexible roster and work/life balance.
  • Must be able to participate in an on-call roster following sufficient experience, and undertake reasonable overtime
  • Must be able to wear lead gown radiation protection

 

Skills and Experience                                                                                                               

Essential Criteria:

  • Current registration with APHRA
  • Minimum 1 years Cath Lab experience desirable or Cardiac Acute Care or Critical Care experience preferred, however we do offer- Transition to Cath Lab Nursing structured program for those with no experience with our supportive preceptors and CNS’s for the right candidate.
  • Working with Children Check
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and have a positive work ethic as part of a harmonious team member
  • Knowledge of and ability to practice within the National Standards
  • You will have a commitment to providing great customer service in our fast pace environment
  • Perioperative experience (anaesthetics/recovery) desirable but not essential
  • Flexibility to work across a range of shifts and on call

 

Remuneration

On offer is base hourly rate of $38.88 - $54.61 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (NSW RN/Midwife gr1-gr8)

Requirements

  • Provide or complete a National Police Check (conducted within the last 12 months)
  • According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
