About the role
An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Registered Nurse to join our Clinical Nurse Leadership Team. We are looking for experienced Emergency Senior Registered Nurses who thrive on working within a multidisciplinary team and will be committed to upholding and promoting the Ramsay Way core values.
As one of the busiest Emergency departments in Western Australia, our department treats a truly interesting and diverse case mix and has 77 patient bays, which is made up of adult treatment bays, a 15-bed emergency admission area, a 10 bed Mental Health Observation Area, an 11-bed paediatric treatment and observation area and three resuscitation bays.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist supports the Clinical Nurse Manager in the efficient management of staff and resources within the department ensuring achievement of excellence in care delivery in line with policies and procedures, best practice, and legislative requirements. Providing leadership and support to all staff to ensure positive patient outcomes are achieved in line with departmental and Hospital strategic objectives.
Principal Responsibilities to include (but not limited to):
- Provide clinical leadership in supervising the delivery of quality patient care
- Systematically examine and question clinical practices, finding, applying and evaluating research evidence in conjunction with clinical expertise to support efficient and cost effective practices and improved patient outcomes
- Provide a consultation service within the Emergency Specialty and on behalf of the Emergency Specialty
- Promote effective team building strategies to ensure a cohesive and supportive structure exists within the department
- Promote a shared vision between all team members
- Act as an advocate for both patients and staff within the department
- Empower staff to be involved in decision making and implementation of corporate responsibility measures within the department and organisation.
What we are looking for:
- Minimum of 5 years recent Emergency/Critical Care nursing experience, that demonstrates expert clinical and problem solving skills, plus a postgraduate certificate in Emergency/ Critical Care, that demonstrates expert clinical and problem solving skills in both adult and paediatric patients
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage conflict and produce resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated experience in clinical change management initiatives in Emergency
- Demonstrated ability to motivate a team and grow a positive culture
- Knowledge and understanding of quality improvement, its relevance to practice and its relationship to
- Strategic development.

Joondalup Health Campus Emergency Department is one of the busiest in Western Australia, providing 24-hour acute care from an integrated public and private hospital campus. Our department treats a truly interesting and diverse case mix and has 66 patient bays, which is made up of 30 adult treatment bays, a 12-bed emergency admission area, a 10 bed Mental Health Observation Area, an 11-bed paediatric treatment and observation area and three resuscitation bays.

Requirements
