As the Senior Legal Counsel (Health Services), you will act as a crucial business partner for our Health Services functions, including Ramsay Pharmacy, Ramsay Psychology, Ramsay Home Health, and Ramsay Health Plus. You will provide essential legal support and advice to key stakeholders, ensuring all legal risks are identified and managed effectively. This role demands a commitment to upholding Ramsay's core values, strategic objectives, and commercial goals.

Essential
 
• Solicitor admitted to a Supreme Court of a State of Australia
• Experienced corporate and commercial lawyer with minimum 7 years post admission experience, ideally with strong track records at a top tier or well-regarded mid-tier firm, and in-house with a major company
• An understanding of the health care industry and legal landscape
• Experience in advising on regulatory, commercial, corporate, property, privacy, competition and advertising/consumer law
• An ability to develop great “trusted advisor” relationships with key business stakeholders and work with minimal supervision in a fast paced and commercial environment
• The ability to provide concise, commercial and compelling legal advice
• Strong negotiation and legal drafting skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with broad range of diverse stakeholders
• Proven ability to work confidently and effectively in a team environment and independently as required
Desirable 
• Experience providing advice in the franchise and/or pharmacy sectors
 
Key Accountabilities & Position Deliverables
 
Key role accountabilities include:
 
 Provide responsive, efficient, and practical advice on a wide variety of commercial legal issues 
 Develop trusted advisor relationships with key stakeholders within Ramsay’s Health Services functions
 Draft, prepare, and negotiate BAU, complex and business critical agreements
 Provide strategic legal advice in relation to a wide range of matters relating to the Health Services function, including regulatory, commercial, privacy, competition and advertising/consumer law matters and disputes and litigation 
 Manage external lawyers effectively, and ensure appropriate management of fees and costs
 Assist the Legal and Risk departments, and the Health Services division more generally, in developing legal risk management strategy where appropriate
 Participate in the review and development of corporate policies and procedures and internal templates and precedents
 Attend meetings with key stakeholders and project teams and providing practical and compelling input to help shape project direction
 Work as part of a team to undertake various roles as requested, supervise/mentor junior staff and provide support to others in their roles
 Manage multiple tasks and deliver results within strict timeframes in line with requirements, ensure appropriate prioritisation of business-critical work
