About the Role
Theatre Assistants play an essential role in the smooth running of our Cath lab and theatres and help us maintain our exceptional levels of care. We’re looking for a motivated individual to join our Lake Macquarie Hospital on a part-time basis. Ideally, the candidate will cover shifts on Wednesday and Thursday and have flexibility to provide additional coverage for a 5-day rotating roster. Duration of shifts will be between 8-10 hours long.
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
• Perioperative environment.
• Transporting patients to and from Cath lab to recovery, wards, day surgery unit.
• Assisting nurses to prepare and position patients for procedures.
• Assisting nurses to clean and change over procedure room between cases.
• Infection control practices and clinical waste management essential.
• Knowledge of Manual Handling practices
• Stock management (collection and distribution of stock throughout department)
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring a willingness to learn and to be trained as a hospital orderly. While experience is not necessary in this role, an interest in patient care is essential. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to provide exceptional service to our patients, along with the ability to manage conflicting priorities in this busy and fast-paced environment. You will be a motivated, positive individual and demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
You will also bring:

• Excellent patient and customer service focus
• Be available for a range of shifts
• Prior experience in a similar role (Desirable)

Requirements
- Must provide or complete a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
- According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
