Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Exciting Leadership Opportunity at the Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital (SCUPH)
Permanent Full Time (76 hours per fortnight)
About the Role
As ICU NUM, you will oversee the day to day clinical and operational management of our 8 bed Intensive Care Unit and 3 bed Coronary Care Unit to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe care for our patients.
This position reports directly to the Director of Clinical Services (DCS) with broader direction from the Hospital Executive Leadership Team.
Our Hospital Facilities:
SCUPH is a 164-bed acute facility which officially opened in November 2013 and include:
• 11 bed combined Intensive Care Unit/Coronary Care Unit
• 8 chair Day Infusion Unit
• 9 chair Renal Dialysis Unit
• 9 Operating Theatres (with shell of 10th)
• 2 Cardiac Catheter Laboratories (1 x Cardiac and 1 x Vascular)
• Procedure Room/Endoscopy Suite
• Day of Surgery Unit
• Clinical Trials Unit
• CSSD Hub site

Key Role Accountabilities
• Be a part of the senior clinical leadership team and participate within the hospital key governance committees.
• Collaborate with Visiting Medical Officers providing services in the ICU/CCU specialities including business development and relationship management.
• Support the development and delivery of our facility’s strategic goals.
• Leading continuous improvement projects, including change management.
• Manage resources aligned to budget and clinical need.
• Design and implement strategies to improve patient and staff experience.
• Work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders through fostering and maintaining relationships.
• Provide mentorship, empower staff, promote professional development and effective team building.
• Actively manage service provider contracts including review and renewal.
• Conduct serious incident investigations and implement improvement initiatives depending on outcomes.
Your Essential Skills and Experience
• Experienced APHRA Registered Nurse with senior clinical ICU/CCU experience at a comparable acute care hospital.
• Demonstrates skills in workforce planning, rostering and working within budgeted work hours.
• Demonstrates positive workforce culture and engagement with key stakeholders.
• Drives quality improvement and organisational change.
• Demonstrates risk minimisation through workplace health and safety, injury management, infection control and clinical incident management.
• Demonstrates innovative and collaborative leadership with effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Models the Ramsay Way values and leads by example.
Desirable:
• Previous leadership and management experience
• Relevant post-graduate tertiary health care qualifications in Business or Management.

Requirements
• Current valid APHRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months.
• According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
