About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated, passionate and experienced nurse to join our clinical leadership team as Nurse Unit Manager – ICU.
As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational clinical management with a focus on quality and patient safety, staff development and providing support to staff whilst ensuring a high standard of clinical practice is maintained.
This position holds a key senior nursing leadership and management role which will see you work closely with the Director of Clinical Services to achieve organisational goals.
Key Responsibilities
In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily clinical operations, drive quality and safety initiatives, and foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Lead and manage the operational and clinical functions of the ICU.
- Mentor and support nursing staff to build capability and confidence.
- Champion patient safety, quality care, and service excellence.
- Collaborate with hospital leadership to implement strategic initiatives.
About You
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum 5 years’ post-graduate experience in Intensive Care Nursing.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and drive team performance.
- Passion for clinical excellence, education, and quality improvement.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a leadership or management role.
Remuneration: A base hourly rate from $65.84 - $71.24 + superannuation, based on experience and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (QLD NUM/MUM level 1 – 4).
